About MeWho do you like? Make some college connections!: MO-Evangel University, CO-Colorado Christian University Personal Statement: Hi! My name is Melanie, and I am a high school senior. After attending public school through sophomore year, I began homeschooling. I am an independent learner. Aside from the guidance of two online classes, I am completely self-taught. The flexibility of home education has allowed me to intern with an Interior Designer, teach Sunday school, and be a driving force behind my youth group. And I still have time to keep up with my school friends, play recreational sports, and maintain a close relationship with my family. Writing is one of my passions. In the summer of 2009, my mom and I started a food blog. Just before we ran out of fabulous recipes to share, I began researching a second blog, which is going strong. In June 2010, I created a third blog about my adventures of homeschooling. Had I stayed in public school, I would never have been able to make the time commitment necessary to be a successful blogger. Blogging has allowed me to interact with people from around the world. I have learned HTML code and was even given the opportunity to interview a major TV personality. Homeschooling has opened up a whole new world. My faith has grown, and I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I wake up every morning excited for what God has planned.
