School Description:
LIU Global is the only Global Studies program in the nation that integrates a series of year-long cultural immersions into a progressive, four-year Bachelor of Arts degree. During its 47-year history, LIU Global (previously the Friends World Program and Global College) has established itself as one of the nation’s leading experiential education programs, providing an individualized international experience as well as a broad-based liberal arts education from one of the largest, most comprehensive private universities in the country. Students study at our centers and programs in Costa Rica, India, China, Australia and Brooklyn and have the options of participating in the traveling Global Issues in South American program that goes to Ecuador and Peru as well as the Comparative Religion & Culture (CRC) program that goes to Taiwan, Thailand, India and Turkey. It is also possible to study abroad with us for a semester or a full year, or participate in our Summer Program in Costa Rica. Our contemporary curriculum is based on global issues, active participation, cross-cultural understanding and independent studies.

Student / Professor Ratio: LIU Global does not have an exact student-teacher ratio because all centers have different numbers of students and staff. For example, the language classes are typically 4:1, whereas the Global Issues course involves all or part of the student body. There are more staff members at the Costa Rica Center because freshman students require more support and guidance, whereas the China and India Centers have less staff because students have grown into independent and directed individuals.
